Things to do
As well as plenty of options for the sun worshipper, there are plenty of things to do to keep you occupied if you prefer the active life.
There are two Go-karting tracks in the area. One in the El parador area of Roquetas de Mar (approximately 20 minutes drive from the house) and the other near Almerimar (approximately 35 minutes drive from the house).

There is an excellent water park in Roquetas de Mar, only 25 minutes away, which hardly ever gets busy. It's open from mid June until mid-September. It's a relatively small waterpark compared to other in the busier resorts, but benefits from virtually no queues for the rides even during the busy school holiday period.
Water rides include:
2 kamikaze slides (although these are not the sheer drop type)
Black hole (single or double-rider inflatable)
Toboggan (single or double-rider inflatable)
4 lane multi-slide
Children's pool area
plus general pool areas
The park opens at 11.00am daily and closes at 7.00pm. Admission charges are €17 (over 12's), €11 (4-12 years), Free (under 4's).

Approximately 50 minutes away is the only desert in Europe, at Tabernas. Many of the spaghetti westerns were filmed here including, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More. One of the film-set locations is now open to the public and has been converted into a theme park.
Mountain walking and biking
Enix is located in the Sierra Gador mountains and is perfect for mountain walking and biking. If required, we can put you in contact with someone who specialises in guided walks and knows the area very well.
20 minutes away in the Alicun area of Roquetas de Mar is the Gran Plaza shopping centre. Whilst it doesn't quite compete at teh same level as Lakeside or Bluewater, it's still a bit of an oasis in a shopping desert! The centre includes:
